Resources for Teachers and Students

This page is to aid teachers in teaching their students about the planets and solar system. It includes links to websites and videos with information on the different technologies the students will use, websites to help the students with their research and videos, quizzes and games for students to help with their learning.

Teacher Resources

Australian Curriculum provides the requirements that students need to achieve in science in year 5
Kidsastronomy has worksheets that students can do which include questions and colouring- in pages
Nasa.gov has many resources available on the planets which might be useful for teachers
Canva is an online poster maker that the students can use to make their planet posters
Scootle has many documents on space that can be helpful for teachers
Kidsknowit has a range of different worksheets that the teacher can give to the students to reinforce their understanding of their lessons
Have Fun Teaching is a YouTube channel which has educational videos to assist children in their learning. There is one of their videos in lesson plan 2

Kidsastronomy is a great website for students to go to for research to the about the planets and everything else in the solar system
Planetsforkids is another good website to research the individual planets and the solar system
Kidzone provides fun facts on the planets for kids

Space.com has a good quiz for students to do online
Sciencekids also has a good quiz which the students could answer in class
Kidsastronomy has a range of games for kids which include hangman, crosswords, word searches and more
